Tell a Friend How To Use A Mount [ ¤¤¤åª© ]
Contributed by Stamp2 Staff Writers
Mounts are made of plastic that is free from chemicals that may be harmful to paper. They are to hold stamps onto the album pages. These mounts comes with a clear front and black background. The bottom is sealed leaving the top and sides open. The back coated with gum like in a stamp.

They are available in precut sizes or in long strips which you can cut to the size that you require.

Pre-cut mounts comes in various sizes. Choosing the correct size is essential. If the height of your stamp is 39mm, use the size 39 mount. It will give a nice 2mm margin around the stamp when it is inserted.
1. Modern mounts are made of materials that are 'plasticiser free' and will not the damage paper of the stamp in the long term.
2. Use a small piece of cotton or cotton bud and wet it slightly.
3. Dab lightly the gum coated backing of the mount. Do not rub otherwise you will remove the gum instead. The prefered area is the centre portion so that the mount will hold firmly onto the album page.
4. Place the mount onto the area you have marked on the album page and press firmly for the mount to stick.
5. It is better to stick all the mounts onto the page and let it dry for a while before inserting the stamps. Check to make sure that the mount is free from any water before inserting the stamp.
6. Make sure the stamps are all aligned nicely.
