Expertising
50 Years A.I.E.P. 1954-2004 International Philatelic Exhibition (Salon) by
Wolfgang Hellrigl
During the past 5 decades some 300 of the world's leading experts became
members of the A.I.E.P. (International Association of Philatelic Experts).
Today's 117 members of the Association represent 36 different countries.
they are generally recognized in their special fields, and many of them are
well known as collectors, students and authors. We will be celebrating the
anniversary of our Association in the city where it was founded on October
10, 1954, viz, Merano-Meran, Italy. In order to make this event more than
just a Society celebration, we are organizing an International Congress on
Philatelic Expertising. Renowned speakers will give a picture of the present
situation, practice and problems of expertising, from different point of
view, and their papers will be followed by discussions. All interested
philatelists are invited to participate.
